Webinar: ID# 1025106
Recorded On-Demand
About This Course:
It’s estimated that ISO 14001 has been adopted by hundreds of thousands of companies worldwide. Thus, it’s clear that ISO 14001 has become an important process and approach to address an organization’s environmental issues and challenges.

Organizations adopt ISO 14001 for a number of reasons, including to:
  • improve resource efficiency and reduce waste;
  • drive down costs;
  • provide assurance that environmental impact is being measured;
  • gain competitive advantage in supply chain design;
  • increase new business opportunities;
  • meet legal obligations;
  • boost stakeholder and customer trust;
  • improve overall environmental impact; and
  • manage environmental obligations with consistency.
The 2015 revisions to ISO 14011 affected both the overall structure and content of the existing standard. For instance, they elevated the role of the EMS, facilitated the linkage to sustainability, and reflected the changing role of the EHS professional. Today there is a stronger emphasis on organizational context, leadership commitment, protecting the environment, environmental risk-management, and performance improvements.

Before you make any major changes to your EMS, it’s important to learn the pros and cons of adoption ISO 14001 and updating existing programs to ensure you’re properly addressing today’s environmental hurdles.
