Since December of 2013 employers have been required to information employees about the new hazard communication requirements such as changing the labels on primary and secondary containers, teaching staff how to interpret pictograms, and changing all Material Safety Data Sheets to Safety Data Sheets.

But it also is important to clearly instruct employees on how to read and interpret Safety Data sheets to ensure employee know how to properly protect themselves and others. And you can learn best practices for doing so with this training session.What You'll Learn:By attending this training session, you and your co-workers will learn:
  • What a "chemical" is, as defined in the hazard communication standard
  • The difference between hazardous chemical and hazardous substance
  • Label requirements for all primary and secondary containers of chemicals in the workplace
  • The pictograms under the GHS standard
  • How to communication Safety Data Sheet contents to employees and be able to describe what a permissible exposure limit is (PEL) and describe a Time -Weighted Average (TLV)
  • How to establish a chemical gatekeeper program and manage Safety Data sheets to ensure that you have all the information available in the event of an accident or OSHA inspection
