Safety Training For Non-English-Speaking Workers: How To Overcome Language Barriers And Master Your Toolbox Talks
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires you to present your safety training “in a manner or in language that is understandable to employees.” Those responsible for the safety of employees with limited proficiency in English understand how tough it can be to meet that requirement.
If you employ workers who don’t speak English well or at all, your ability to train them on your safety policies and procedures is affected by how well you recognize and address language barriers and cultural differences that can cause misunderstanding. Such factors often impact safety, as well as productivity, and can unnecessarily divide the workforce.
You can learn how to recognize and overcome language barriers by joining us for our webinar, Safety Training for Non-English-Speaking Workers. Our presenter, Steven St. Laurent, is a seasoned safety professional who trains non-English speaking employees to work safely in industry, retail, and construction.
