Description:

Beginning in December 2017, many employers with more than 10 employees are now required to electronically submit injury and illness data to OSHA. OSHA’s rationale for these new requirements is that collecting and sending injury and illness data to OSHA will push employers to focus more on safety. But, not knowing where to draw the line on what to record could land some organizations in hot water.

Determining what is considered first aid (and thus nonrecordable) versus medical treatment (and recordable) is a major sticking point for many employers, one that can lead to costly mistakes on OSHA 300 logs.

Join us to get clarity on this issue and other recordkeeping headaches. Attorney Raymond Perez will lead an in-depth webinar about OSHA’s Injury and Illness Recordkeeping Rule, including the new electronic submission requirements, where he’ll discuss what is considered recordable and how to manage your organization’s records to remain in compliance.

You’ll learn:

  • The requirements and penalties for OSHA’s new electronic recordkeeping rule
  • How to distinguish between “first aid” and “medical treatment”
  • Which injuries need to be recorded and which ones are exempt
  • How to electronically submit recordable injuries or illnesses
  • Which industries are required to report and which ones are exempt

About Webcasts / Audio Conferences / Podcasts:

Webcasts, audio conferences, and podcasts are presentations that you attend via the Internet, phone, or mobile device at a specified date and time for "live" versions, or at your convenience for "recorded" and "On-Demand" versions.

The live versions are interactive, meaning that participants can ask questions in real time, plus are a very cost-effective form of training because 1) you receive fast, convenient learning without any out-of-office time; 2) you can invite as many colleagues as you'd like to listen in on a single phone line; 3) you incur no travel expenses; and 4) you and your colleagues are back at work immediately after the session ends!

And though with recorded versions you do lose the ability to ask questions, you gain the ability to hear the presentation numerous times and to share it with others in your office.

Handout materials and the phone number for live presentations are made available to you prior to the event via email from the presenter and from the "MyAccount" link on the menu bar. Copies of the presentations are included with recorded versions.
