Description:

Both the OSHA electrical safety regulations and the NFPA 70E electrical safety consensus standards have one goal in mind, to protect employees from electrical hazards. Their approaches to achieving this is also quite similar, but for NFPA, they typically can update and incorporate new information into their standards every three years while OSHA has much less flexibility and often can only reference consensus standards, and that’s where part of the confusion arises. Keep in mind that NFPA is due to release new 2018 guidelines soon.

Safety managers often struggle to design a comprehensive electrical safety program that integrates the applicable OSHA regulations and NFPA 70E-2018 electrical safety consensus standards. Deciding how to be in full compliance with both standards is quite daunting, and not being in compliance can leave your workers in danger and your organization open to damaging litigation and fines.

Join us for where to start with addressing electrical hazards in your workplace so you’re well prepared to handle arc flashes, worker training, de-energizing equipment, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and more. Our presenter will teach you how to use the OSHA electrical safety regulations and the NFPA 70E-2018 consensus standards to develop and implement a world-class electrical safety program.

You’ll learn:

  • Analyze, compare, and assess OSHA electrical safety regulations and NFPA 70E electrical safety consensus standards
  • Apply the new 2018 version of the NFPA 70E consensus standards to your workplace
  • Integrate OSHA regulations and NFPA 70E-2018 version into a comprehensive, compliant electrical safety program covering arc flashes, protective clothing, proper equipment, adequate training, qualifications of workers, de-energizing of equipment, LOTO procedures, safe work practices, and other areas
  • And more!

About Webcasts / Audio Conferences / Podcasts:

Webcasts, audio conferences, and podcasts are presentations that you attend via the Internet, phone, or mobile device at a specified date and time for "live" versions, or at your convenience for "recorded" and "On-Demand" versions.

The live versions are interactive, meaning that participants can ask questions in real time, plus are a very cost-effective form of training because 1) you receive fast, convenient learning without any out-of-office time; 2) you can invite as many colleagues as you'd like to listen in on a single phone line; 3) you incur no travel expenses; and 4) you and your colleagues are back at work immediately after the session ends!

And though with recorded versions you do lose the ability to ask questions, you gain the ability to hear the presentation numerous times and to share it with others in your office.

Handout materials and the phone number for live presentations are made available to you prior to the event via email from the presenter and from the "MyAccount" link on the menu bar. Copies of the presentations are included with recorded versions.
