Description:

Many of OSHA’s standards include specific employee training requirements that employers must follow to ensure compliance and avoid potential citations. There are requirements for who must be trained, course content and language, delivery methods, trainer qualifications, refreshers, and recordkeeping.

In order to ensure the effectiveness of your safety program, it must make employees aware of all job risks and be tailored to all employee education levels. In addition to being informative, safety training should also promote engagement and retention.

Learning from accidents, modifications, improvements to tasks, and promoting employee engagement in a safe work environment is an integral part of a company’s success, compliance and safety culture.

Join us when Joe Keenan, a seasoned safety technical trainer and manager, will present strategies to help you design a safety training program that meets OSHA requirements, engages all levels of employees, and helps improve the overall safety performance of your organization.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the critical components a workplace safety training program must have to be in compliance with OSHA standards
  • Evaluate the latest trends in safety training
  • Assess the importance of tailoring your training to employees’ language and education level to meet OSHA requirements
  • Develop processes for training recordkeeping to be able to demonstrate to OSHA that your program meets regulatory requirements
  • Consider the best methods to keep your safety training program relevant and effective in your workplace
  • Identify who should participate in the delivery of safety training programs based on OSHA requirements
  • Convince senior management that safety training is a good investment
  • Use employee engagement as an important tool in ensuring transfer and retention of knowledge

About Webcasts / Audio Conferences / Podcasts:

Webcasts, audio conferences, and podcasts are presentations that you attend via the Internet, phone, or mobile device at a specified date and time for "live" versions, or at your convenience for "recorded" and "On-Demand" versions.

The live versions are interactive, meaning that participants can ask questions in real time, plus are a very cost-effective form of training because 1) you receive fast, convenient learning without any out-of-office time; 2) you can invite as many colleagues as you'd like to listen in on a single phone line; 3) you incur no travel expenses; and 4) you and your colleagues are back at work immediately after the session ends!

And though with recorded versions you do lose the ability to ask questions, you gain the ability to hear the presentation numerous times and to share it with others in your office.

Handout materials and the phone number for live presentations are made available to you prior to the event via email from the presenter and from the "MyAccount" link on the menu bar. Copies of the presentations are included with recorded versions.
