Description:

An effective safety culture can be the backbone for safety compliance. A poor safety culture, however, can undo your best efforts to develop and maintain a low-incident, high-productivity workplace.

If your employees (and even management) are not on board with your initiatives, even the most detailed and technically sound safety programs may come up short.

If you’re trying to improve a safety culture that’s lacking in your organization, you may ask yourself what successful companies have done to kickstart their cultures and employee engagement so they’re both going in the right direction.

Join us when Dr. Earl Blair, an Assistant Professor at Eastern Kentucky University who’s helped companies achieve OSHA VPP Star site status, shares tips for assessing your existing culture to identify gaps and opportunities, and recommends methods for evolving the culture through leadership, accountability, and employee engagement.

Now you can find out proven secrets for improving workplace safety culture, increasing engagement, and reducing the risk of getting slapped with OSHA fines.

Learning Objectives:

  • Fundamental elements of a healthy safety program—one where employees actively participate and are engaged
  • How to evaluate where you are in relation to where you want to be—including how to examine your company’s current position relative to your goals for employee involvement and engagement
  • Strategies for addressing safety culture gaps you’ve identified
  • How to set priorities that target the most important changes necessary for achieving safety culture success
  • Proven tools, practices, and approaches that involve the entire workforce in setting goals for future successful engagement and participation in the safety program
  • A process for measuring meaningful employee engagement in a way that provides useful feedback to management and employees
  • Best practices for engaging everyone—from management and supervisors to line workers—who plays a hand in improving safety culture
  • Tips for managing and measuring the safety culture changes that are transforming your worksite(s)

About Webcasts / Audio Conferences / Podcasts:

Webcasts, audio conferences, and podcasts are presentations that you attend via the Internet, phone, or mobile device at a specified date and time for "live" versions, or at your convenience for "recorded" and "On-Demand" versions.

The live versions are interactive, meaning that participants can ask questions in real time, plus are a very cost-effective form of training because 1) you receive fast, convenient learning without any out-of-office time; 2) you can invite as many colleagues as you'd like to listen in on a single phone line; 3) you incur no travel expenses; and 4) you and your colleagues are back at work immediately after the session ends!

And though with recorded versions you do lose the ability to ask questions, you gain the ability to hear the presentation numerous times and to share it with others in your office.

Handout materials and the phone number for live presentations are made available to you prior to the event via email from the presenter and from the "MyAccount" link on the menu bar. Copies of the presentations are included with recorded versions.
